COUNSELING MINISTRIES

At Calvary Baptist Church, we believe in Biblical counseling.  We believe that the Bible has all of the answers to life’s problems because it points us toward Christ.  We also know that “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”(1 Jn. 4:4).  If you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior, then you have the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:9).  With a dependence upon God, you can overcome anything this world has to throw at you. 

We do not endorse the secular psychological method of labelling a sinner as “sick”.  Placing a “sick” label on a counselee removes personal responsibility and often produces thoughts such as “I can’t overcome it because I have a sickness”. 

We believe that any sin issue can be overcome when one places their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ concerning a matter.  Therefore, in our counseling, we will seek to lead a person to a more sanctified manner of living.  In this way, the believer will be able to conquer his/her issues and to live a productive Christian life for God.
