Pastor Paul Maccarrone
Dr. Larry R. Thornton began his ministry as Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church on July 1, 1992. He has had 29 years of seminary teaching in the fields of New Testament, Greek, and Biblical Counseling. He had been the pastor of Bible Baptist Church of West Springfield, MA and Valley Baptist Church of Golden Valley, MN. He has taught at Central Baptist Seminary in Minneapolis, MN and at Calvary Baptist Seminary in Lansdale, PA. While at Calvary Baptist Seminary, he served as an Assistant Pastor ministering to a large adult Sunday school class. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University. He has also graduated from Central Baptist Seminary and from Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lakes, IN where he received his Doctor of Theology. In 1988, he graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary of Philadelphia, PA with a Doctor of Ministry in Counseling. He is a native of Piqua, OH. He and his wife, Sandra, have two daughters. Most of his time is spent in preparation of expository messages, preparing dynamic Sunday school lessons, counseling, and visitation.
Rev. Steven A. Leap began his ministry as the assistant pastor on August 1, 2008. He has had a strong desire to serve the Lord in pastoral ministry. He had previously served in several fundamental Baptist churches in various capacities during his training. These capacities included teaching adult Sunday school, superintending children’s Sunday school, regular preaching and teaching, counseling, serving as a youth leader, teaching junior church, serving as a deacon, and participating in several pastoral internships. Pastor Leap graduated from Baptist Bible College in 2001 with a degree in Bible. He also completed a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in 2008. He is currently working on the Master of Divinity degree from Calvary Baptist Seminary. He is a native of East Stroudsburg, PA. He and his wife, Roxanne, have a two year old girl and recently celebrated the birth of their son. Pastor Leap works in several areas of the church including preaching and teaching, outreach, and youth. He is a strong proponent of expository Biblical preaching and of Biblical counseling.
Pastor Paul Maccarrrone has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 2003. He serves the Lord in various ministries within the church and was licensed as a pastor in August 2008. Since May 2007, he has served as the youth director. Additionally, he has been the choir director since January 2008. Pastor Paul is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with an MS in Accounting and is employed full time as a portfolio accountant in real estate investments. He is a native of the Bronx, NY. He and his wife, Cindi, have three sons. He finds joy in serving God through being a godly husband and father, teaching God’s Word, working with the teens, directing the choir, leading congregational singing, special music, and helping in a variety of other areas.
